Devoxx 2024 kicked off with pastries and a warm gathering, providing the perfect opportunity to catch up with colleagues and reconnect with familiar faces. During the opening keynote, we learned about the latest trends, including generative AI and platform development, which are shaping the future of our industry.

After a quick coffee, we attended an engaging talk on mentoring and empathy. These topics are crucial for us as developers, as they help us grow in teamwork and communication. During the lunch break, we reflected on the valuable insights we had gained so far.

The session on “Top REST API Design Pitfalls” introduced us to anti-patterns like mortgage-driven development and offered practical solutions for building robust APIs. Later, in “Bootyfull Spring Boot 3.x,” we explored the latest features of Spring Boot 3 combined with Java 21, which will help us enhance our development processes.

We wrapped up the day with a hands-on demo in “Pushing LLMs to the Edge,” where we delved into the possibilities and limitations of modern Large Language Models.
