What is it like to work at ABC Group?
What I really appreciate about ABC Group is the collegiality. We work closely together, and we can always help each other. Even if you're not working with the same client, you can always reach out for help. Another great thing is the flat structure here. If you need to ask something from a manager, you can simply do that, and communication is always open.
What do you think of the work environment and culture?
Our office is located near the Kalmthout Heath, and it’s very accessible. The space where our Java team works is nicely decorated and cozy. We also have the option to work from home very often, which is always available. The room you see me in is the relaxation space. There’s also a shot dispenser here, so there’s always some fun. Our reception area is also very nice, with a pond right by it.
How is the team atmosphere?
How are the colleagues at ABC Group? I can only say that it's a very lively group where everyone is welcome. It really doesn't matter who you are or how you are—everyone is accepted. Everyone helps each other, and that creates a really great atmosphere to work in.
Are there opportunities for growth?
There are several opportunities for growth at ABC Group. First of all, you can earn certifications to become an expert in something, like Java Spring. Additionally, there are always growth opportunities with clients as well.
Have you had the chance to grow?
I've already had quite a few growth opportunities within ABC. One of the first things I think of is the Devoxx conference here in Belgium. For example, we attended a best practices talk, which you can always use in programming life. I am also a coach for the Juniors and supervise internships. I do this less now because I’ve had growth opportunities with clients, where I am now a project lead. This role takes up more of my time.
What is your favorite tech gadget?
My favorite gadget is noise-cancelling headphones. They are just comfortable for focusing, especially when you need to make a lot of calls, like I do. They really help me get through the day, and they're also super cute!
