Java Unitmeeting: VR shooting game and diner
Last week, our Java Unit meeting wasn't just about work—it was all about fun and team building. Together with 15 colleagues, we decided to do something different: VR gaming! It turned out to be an unforgettable day as we challenged each other in an immersive VR shooting game. It felt like a real battle, with everyone fully engaged in the intense gameplay, making tactical decisions, and striving to lead their team to victory.
The tension rose as the teams exchanged fire in a virtual environment packed with action and adrenaline. It was amazing to see how the team dynamics shifted in a context so different from our daily work. Collaborating under pressure, reacting quickly, and making decisions—skills we typically use in our Java projects—found their way into a completely new challenge.
After this energetic and thrilling competition, we had definitely worked up an appetite. Luckily, we had already made a reservation for a nice meal. One of our colleagues suggested a nearby Vietnamese restaurant, and it turned out to be a fantastic choice. After all that adrenaline, it was wonderful to sit down together and enjoy traditional Vietnamese dishes. The flavors were the perfect conclusion to a day full of energy and teamwork.
This Java Unit meeting was more than just a gathering of colleagues—it was an experience that brought us closer together. We got to know each other in a new way and collaborated beyond code and deadlines. It was a reminder that team building is sometimes as simple as having fun and sharing new experiences together.
Curious about the next Java Unit meeting? We certainly can’t wait!
